SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 10-26-14 at 1300 hrs Tr. Jill Monahan responded to a single vehicle crash on the Burton Rd in Linneus. A tan SUV had gone off the road, striking a mailbox and a telephone pole and coming to rest on the side of the roadway. The male operator had then left the scene prior to Tr. Monahan’s arrival. During the investigation, Herbert Winship, age 38 of Houlton was identified as the operator and he was subsequently located at a residence in Houlton. Winship was arrested for operating after suspension and on three outstanding arrest warrants and transported to the Aroostook County Jail. Tr. Monahan was assisted by Houlton P.D, the investigation is continuing with further charges possible.
