Arrest on Multiple Burglaries - Van Buren

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On November 26, Trooper Corey Hafford charged Dennis Winchester, age 50 of Van Buren, with 5 counts of Burglary (Class B) 8 counts of Theft (Class C), 7 counts of Criminal Mischief (Class E) and one Violation of Condition of Release (Class E).  This was following the execution of multiple search warrants and interviews of victims of crimes dating back to December 3 2013.  The crimes were committed in the towns of Washburn, New Canada, New Sweden, Caswell, Stockholm, Perham and Cyr Plantation.  

On November 9, 2014, Troopers assisted Van Buren Police Department in executing a search warrant at 188 CastonguayRoad in Van Buren, the residence of Dennis Winchester. As a result of the search warrant stolen items were located and seized.  Tr. Hafford, Tr. Michaud and Tr. Levesque along with officers from Van Buren PD, worked together to locate the owners of the stolen property including using social media.  Winchester is currently in The Aroostook County Jail with a Superior Court date of December 18 2014.
