SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 5/1/2014, a joint task force that included the Maine State Police Troop A,  Maine State Police Proactive Criminal Enforcement Team, US Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force, and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested GENE DARES DOB 6/10/1978, on a Class A Robbery Warrant. DARES was the getaway driver in an armed robbery that occurred in Lebanon on 3/20/2014, in which HEATHER LEWIS DOB 4/2/1988 produced a gun and robbed the victim of $130.00. Both LEWIS and another accomplice, BOBBI JEANNE BOUTHOT DOB 8/24/1990 had previously been arrested on warrants regarding the incident. DARES has an extensive criminal history, and according to multiple sources, was known to possess guns.

The task force had information DARES was staying in the Biddeford area. Going off an anonymous tip, DARES was expected to be a passenger in a Red Chevy Blazer bearing ME PC 3945 SN. The task force located the vehicle travelling North on I-95. In a subsequent high-risk felony stop, DARES was taken into custody without incident.
