SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

Roger Chipman, 59 years old, of Birch Harbor, ME was driving a red 2007 Suzuki motorcycle and traveling north on Route 1 in Hancock a short distance before the Washington Junction Road.  Roger was negotiating a sweeping corner and lost control.  Roger’s motorcycle crashed into a guardrail and Roger was ejected down over an embankment.  Roger sustained serious injuries and he was transported to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth. He was later transported by Life flight to Eastern Maine Medical Center. There are no indications that speed or alcohol were contributing factors at this time. 

Maine State Police Sergeant Alden Bustard, Trooper Cliff Peterson, and Trooper Chris Smith investigated the crash.
