SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

Operator was northbound on Rt. 11. Vehicle drifted off the roadway and into a ditch on the east of Rt. 11. Vehicle then struck a culvert head at 1396 Aroostook Road and went airborne, hit a tree and then a utility pole, which also snapped a utility pole on the west side of Rt. 11. Operator was extricated by Fort Kent Jaws of Life. Operator sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to Bangor. Power was out in the area for approximately 2 hours. Investigation is continuing.
