SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:


On 11-12-14 at approximately 2315 hrs., Tr. Jillian Monahan and Tr. Dennis Quint responded to a two vehicle crash on Rt 1 in Monticello in the area of the Monticello/Littleton town line. Patricia Perkins, age 35 of Presque Isle was northbound on Rt 1 in her 2002 Saturn passenger car and drifted over the centerline into the path of a southbound Toyota car operated by Michael Trader, age 29 of New York. Trader couldn’t avoid Perkins vehicle and they struck head on, causing substantial damage to both vehicles which are considered a total loss. Trader was uninjured in the crash, Perkins sustained serious internal injuries and the Monticello Jaws of Life had to be utilized to remove her from her vehicle. Perkins was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital for treatment and then transferred to EMMC in Bangor for further care.
