State
Police say two more persons have been arrested in connection with the armed
robbery of a medical marijuana grower, September 21, in Winterport. Two
men had earlier been charged. The robbery was caught of a security camera
as three armed men, dressed as police, made off with a number of marijuana
plants.
The
third man wanted in the robbery was arrested Thursday in Bucksport. 45
year old Kerry Hurd was taken into custody by US Marshals and State Police in
the parking lot of the Hannaford store without incident. Hurd was taken
to the Waldo County Jail. He is charged with robbery, impersonating a
public servant, trespass, and theft by unauthorized taking.
Hurd’s
brother, Jeffrey Hurd, and Scott Roberts, turned themselves into police in
early October.
Also
arrested in connection with the robbery is 28 year old April Jones of Orneville
Township. Troopers say she drove the three men to the robbery and is the
girlfriend of Roberts. Troopers arrested Jones Monday at her home. She is
charged with robbery and theft by unauthorized taking. Jones was taken to
the Piscataquis County Jail.
