SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On December 09, 2014 at about 3:00 am Tr. Ben Campbell, Troop E, responded to a vehicle off the road in Hersey Township. When he arrived at the scene the operator was gone. Through his investigation, Tr. Campbell learned that the vehicle had been stolen from Wallagrass.

At about 3:50 am East Millinocket PD received a complaint that a vehicle was stolen from a parking lot near the Irving in Medway and had gotten on the interstate. Officer Seth Burneresponded and through his investigation, learned that the vehicle made it to the Sherman Circle K. State Police, Troop F, were requested to assist Officer Burnes. Tr John Darcy responded to the Circle K. Before Officer Burnes and Tr Darcy could arrive at the Circle K, the male suspect took a third vehicle that belonged to one of the Circle K employees and left in an unknown direction

Tr. Darcy collected video footage from the store that shows the suspect walking in. That photo was sent to Tr. Hafford who believed the photo looked like Pat-Rick Daigle of New Canada.
Tr Hafford was at the scene in Wallagrass where the first vehicle was reported stolen. Tr Hafford noticed foot prints in the snow and requested a K-9 to attempt to locate where the foot tracks came from.

Sgt. Fuller & K-9 Gleni responded to the scene on the Strip Rd in Wallagrass. State Police K-9, Gleni, tracked from the footprintsat the scene of the stolen vehicle to Daigle’s front door in New Canada. A warrant was put out for Daigle’s arrest.
Troopers and the Warden Service continued to search the New Canada area in an attempt to locate the stolen vehicle from Circle K.

Later that afternoon, Daigle turned himself in to Tr. Hafford at his home in Wallagrass. Daigle was taken into custody without incident. Daigle was charged with Unauthorized use of Motor Vehicle (three counts- Class D crime) and Operating after Suspension (three counts-Class E crime).
