SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 01-09-15 at approximately 2339 hrs Tr. Corey Hafford responded to Stockholm for a report of a crash involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.  Garth Johnson, age 19 of Caribou, was traveling on Main St. in Stockholm and had stopped at traffic light on the bridge in Stockholm, which is under construction.  Johnson started to cross the bridge and encountered Reighel Waugh, age 26, walking in the roadway on the bridge.  Johnson did not see Waugh due to her dark clothing and could not avoid striking Waugh.  Johnson struck Waugh with the front corner of his pickup knocking her to the ground.  Waugh sustained leg and head injuries in the crash and was transported to Cary Medical Center for treatment by Caribou Ambulance.  There was no damage to Johnson’s vehicle nor did he sustain any injuries.  Johnson and other motorists provided assistance to Waugh until the ambulance arrived.

Tr. Hafford was assisted by Tr. Dennis Quint.  No charges are anticipated.
