SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

At approximately 1445 HRS, off-duty Washburn Police Reserve Officer Timothy Stitham contacted State Police in Houlton and informed them he had come into contact with a white 2004 Pontiac van that had been reported stolen from Fort Fairfield the prior night.  Stitham maintained contact with the vehicle and its occupants as they traveled to a residence located on Forest Ave. in Easton.  Tr. Robert Flynn arrived at the residence and arrested the van’s operator, Robert Fieler, for receiving stolen property.  Officers from Fort Fairfield Police Department came to the residence and provided details of their investigation into the theft of the van.   During the investigation, it was learned Fieler’s license was suspended and he was on probation and currently on bail.  Troopers also discovered the owner of the residence on Forest Ave, Eric Brigman, age 43, had an active warrant for Failure to Appear issued by the Presque Isle District Court.  Brigman was arrested on that warrant.  Both men were taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Tr. Jeff Clark assisted in the investigation.  The van was secured by Fort Fairfield P.D.
