SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 12-23-14 at approximately 2230 hrs., Tr. Andrew Levesque responded to a single vehicle crash on Rt. 161 in St. Francis. Bruce Bernier, age 47 of Sanford was traveling southbound in his 2002 Dodge pickup when he lost control and skidded off the opposite side of the roadway, striking a mailbox and rolling over onto its roof. Bernier sustained minor cuts from broken glass but did not require any treatment. Bernier had left the scene prior to Tr. Levesque’s arrival and was located a short time later at a residence in Fort Kent. After investigation Bernier was arrested and charged with OUI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and violation of bail conditions. Bernier’s vehicle sustained significant damage in the crash and is considered totaled.
