Among the dozens of crashes in southern Maine this morning that
Troopers covered was a collision between a pickup and a tanker truck on the
Maine Turnpike in Arundel. Both vehicles ended up off the southbound lane
into the tree line. The crash took place at 8:30 am as the pickup was
attempting to pass the big rig and went out of control. Both drivers had
minor injuries and were treated at the Biddeford hospital. The driver of
the pickup is 48 year old Scott Stone of Rowley, MA and the tractor trailer
operator is 57 year old Glenn Martin of Buckfield. There was some minor fuel
leakage from the tractor trailer’s fuel tank, but not from the tanker portion.
